INTRODUCTION

Know Your Candle is operated by SIOWA (“we”, “us”, “our”). We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our website, browser extension, and related services (“Services”).

By using our Services, you agree to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not use our Services.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information you provide directly to us, information we collect automatically when you use our Services, and information from third parties.

Information You Provide to Us

  • Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile identity from Google.
  • Subscription and payment information: When you subscribe, payment is processed by Razorpay. We receive and store subscription status, customer and subscription IDs, plan details, and payment event metadata. We do not store your full card number.
  • Communications: Any messages you send us, such as support requests.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Chart context: When the extension is active on a TradingView page, it reads the ticker symbol, exchange, timeframe, visible chart range, and chart calibration data (price scale, time scale, plot dimensions, candle-to-pixel coordinates) needed to draw pattern overlays accurately on your screen.
  • Market data: To detect and render candlestick patterns, the extension fetches OHLC (open, high, low, close) candle data from Yahoo Finance and Binance for the symbol and timeframe you are viewing.
  • Usage and device information: Browser type, extension version, and basic diagnostic/log data for debugging and abuse prevention.

We do not access your TradingView account credentials, watchlists, alerts, brokerage data, or trading history.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

  • Authenticate your account and verify your subscription/license status
  • Process subscriptions and payments
  • Detect candlestick patterns and render overlays on the chart you are viewing
  • Persist your settings (enabled patterns, filters, sensitivity, panel position) across sessions
  • Maintain and improve the Services, including debugging and diagnostics
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or unauthorized activity
  • Send you technical notices, updates, and administrative messages

SHARING OF INFORMATION

We may share your information with:

  • Google, for sign-in and authentication
  • Razorpay, for subscription and payment processing
  • Yahoo Finance and Binance, to retrieve market (OHLC) data needed for pattern detection
  • TradingView, as the page on which the extension operates and from which it reads chart context
  • Hosting and database providers we use to operate our backend
  • Legal authorities, when required by law or to protect our rights
  • A successor entity, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar business transaction

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use extension data for advertising or unrelated analytics.

CHROME EXTENSION

The Know Your Candle Chrome extension detects candlestick patterns in real time and renders overlay markers on TradingView charts. This section explains what the extension reads, what it stores, and where data is sent, in addition to the practices described above.

What the extension reads

  • Chart data on TradingView, including the symbol, exchange, timeframe, visible chart range, and chart calibration values. This is used solely to position pattern markers correctly on your chart.
  • The extension only runs on TradingView pages and does not access other websites.

What the extension stores on your device

Stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local):

  • Authentication data: your sign-in tokens (access token, refresh token, token expiry), email address, and license status, so you do not have to sign in every time
  • Chart context: current ticker, timeframe, asset class, exchange, and candle count
  • Your settings: enabled patterns, bullish/bearish/neutral filters, trendline settings, sensitivity, and debug mode
  • UI state: floating panel position and minimized state

This data stays on your device until you sign out, clear it, or uninstall the extension.

Market data caching

OHLC candle data fetched from Yahoo Finance and Binance is cached only in memory in the extension's background process, with a small, limited cache size, and is not persisted to disk or sent to our servers beyond what is needed to operate the feature.

Where data is sent

The extension communicates with:

  • Know Your Candle, for sign-in, license/subscription checks, and account information
  • Yahoo Finance and Binance, to retrieve OHLC market data
  • TradingView, as the page the extension runs on

It does not connect to any other service.

How we use this information

Our use of information from the extension follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements:

  • We use this information only to provide and improve the features you see in the extension
  • We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising or unrelated analytics
  • We do not use it to assess creditworthiness or to make lending decisions
  • No one at Know Your Candle accesses your data except with your permission, to comply with the law, or to investigate a specific reported problem

How to revoke access

You can stop the extension from accessing your account at any time:

  • Sign out from inside the extension, or
  • Remove the extension from your browser's extensions page

Uninstalling the extension clears the data it stored on your device. Signing out also revokes its access on our side.

DATA SECURITY

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, accidental loss, or damage. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

DATA RETENTION

  • Local extension data (settings, chart context, panel state, auth tokens) is retained on your device until you sign out, clear your data, or uninstall the extension.
  • Account, license, and subscription records are retained on our backend for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information
  • Restrict or object to our use of your personal information
  • Receive a copy of your personal information in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent

DATA DELETION

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data from our systems.

To request deletion:

  • Include your account email address and any relevant details to help us locate your data

What happens after a deletion request

  • We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days
  • Personal data associated with your account will be permanently removed from our active systems
  • Some data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days before being fully purged
  • Data required for legal or regulatory compliance may be retained as permitted by law

COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to distinguish you from other users and to provide a better browsing experience. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, but some parts of our Services may not function properly if you do.

INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your personal information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than the one in which you reside. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those of your country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised Privacy Policy with an updated effective date. Continued use of our Services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
